Phnom Penh Municipality is planning to create a pedestrian friendly tourist site early next year to boost tourism, Phnom Penh Governor H.E. Kep Chuktema said in a meeting yesterday.
This project is aimed to respond to the growing number of local and foreign tourists to Phnom Penh, to increase the beauty as well as to reduce the use of vehicles in the capital city, underlined H.E. Kep Chuktema.
The pedestrian friendly tourist site will be created in front of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, near Wat Phnom Historical Site, in Daun Penh district, where there are many French architecture buildings. It will be open on weekends with stalls selling Cambodia-made souvenirs and handicrafts, coffee shops, etc.
